  • Provenance: After successes at the Barbizon School and in Paris, he returned to Deurle and met his wife in 1857. They married in 1860 and moved into a spacious house with a beautiful flower garden at De Vierijzer in Deurle. He will remain there until his death in 1896. This beautiful canvas shows the spacious garden with his wife and daughter on the left. It is dated 1887 and has remained in the possession of the descendants of Xavier De Cock to this day. Exhibition label on the back.

    Na successen in de School van Barbizon en in Parijs keert hij terug naar Deurle en leert hij in 1857 zijn vrouw kennen. Ze trouwen in 1860 en nemen hun intrek in een ruime woning met schitterende bloementuin aan De Vierschaar in Deurle. Hij zal er blijven tot zijn dood in 1896. Dit prachtige doek toont de riante tuin met links zijn echtgenote met zijn dochter. Het is gedateerd 1887 en bleef tot op heden in bezit van de nazaten van Xavier De Cock.
